this sounds like an excellent plan to launder a bunch of money. the physics doesn't make sense on this - you can pump air much faster and easier into a steel cylinder and release pressure when you want to extract that energy, there's zero reason to do this under water. except this method of storing energy is incredibly inefficient, that's why nobody uses it.

Maybe I'm missing a key point, but I don't particularly recommend this, mainly because 1) these are fragile and single use, and because of point 1), point 2) is that you won't know if they work until you try activating it (during an emergency) . Effort and money would be better spent on many more flashlights with a good supply of AA batteries that you can cycle through and test.

Toronto Hydro should offer EV owners free or discounted fee to upgrade to 200amp service to the meter. No one can even tell me what the fee will be just to have someone come out and figure out a rate to upgrade. I find their call centre for connections are not serious about customer safety. I asked two ladies from there if my service is 100 or 200amp. They said check the label on the meter. The label is just what the meter is rated for, not what is actually going to my meter. Then they both said if it says up to 200amp then I have 200 amp. Not believing them, i submit a request online instead, and the guy said it was only 100amp. I dont know who to believe, but to be on the safe side is to believe it's the lower figure. Imagine if someone believed what the reps said about it being 200amp and end up upgrading panels just to find out it's only 100amp. The cost to just get the electrician out with all the equipments. I don't understand why they can't tell me the fee to have someone do an estimate of upgrading to 200amp to the meter. The 2inch conduit to the meter is sufficient for 200amp cables too. Anyways, nice PR video.

R they using water pressure to force the air back up? That way they only have to pay for pushing it under? Otherwise normal land based systems would be more cost effective, even on shore. This seems more like an attempt to "real world" a scifi underwater energy system, than an actual power plant.
